plz help for 'GENERAL CATEGORY' student visa ... wt should i do ? :(

respected sir/madam ,

i have completed bachelor of engg. in mechanical in the year 2011. i had applied for the diploma course of mech. engg. design and drafting in sheridan coll. under SPP program for jan 2012 intake , but my visa was rejected .. and they give the reason that

" Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of the following : your qualifications, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, other educational opportunities available in India (the country of the applicant) or Canada, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans."

so, now what should i do ?  i hv got 6.5 bands in ielts

should i apply for MAY 2012 intake under 'general' category ??

 n which college and what course should i choose ??  and if yes then which is the best time to apply??

plz reply .. waiting for response ..

as i seen tht u question tht chc stamp in genereal?

parshant whether it is general or visitor or spp any type of application chc will not give any stamp or file number in ur passport

u r passport number is stored as a record by chc so whenever u rpply whith any category chc will know all details of ur previous application my passport number and date of birth

 @ Prashant, I'm guessing because of your IELTS score (5.5 in writing) you opt for diploma & not higher education, right? I think instead of re-applying directly, you should write IELTS again & get admission in higher education or else your visa will get rejected again with the same reason.

P.S : some college do provide admission in P.G Diploma course with your current scores

Its not bcoz of IELTS u got rejected,
ur under grad is Engg, but u opted to study for a diploma course, thaz the prob
try to get admitted in a post grad diploma or Ms from a reputable univ

IELTS is not the problem. He's having minimum 5.5 in every module & 6.5 overall. The problem is he's already having a degree & he chose an Undergraduate Diploma course.

Nothing matter regarding course rather its an specialization in mechanical stream through modern cad/cam softwares .The problem always lies as the way we represent our documents

im thinking to take admission in post-graduation course in general category for MAY 2012 intake..

wt do u say guys ??  shd i take admission in p.g. course or should i try for uni. ??

You got it right, problem was with your course selection. Go for University, it'll increase your chances a bit. If you go for a full masters degree chances will be more.

Your score is NOT low, 6.5 is fine. Many Universities require 6.5 bands overall but some require minimum 6 bands in every module. There are even some that require 6 Overall with no module less than 5.5 bands. Tuition fee is almost the same i guess(I may be wrong).
