My husband file was transferred to Damascus as well in april  and it did mention medical received when the status in PR was changed to say the application in process.
BTW it still in early stage for us to have a decision made. Did your husband already did his medical and sent along with the application ? BTW if you need any additional information send them an email to re-damascus-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca. I sent an email on Friday and was so surprise to have a response today. They even provided me with his file# in Damascus. I'm lucky they are provided me with his case# in Damascus also they mentioned the following on the email.

"Please note that we are devoting all available resources to ensure that our priority Family Class cases (spouses, partners, and dependent children) are processed as quickly as possible. Your spouse's application was received in our office on April . Our objective is to finalize these cases within 6 months of the date of receipt. Routine cases, where all the required information is submitted with the application, are handled even more quickly. However, if further checks are required, finalizing the case might take longer.

Please note that if we require any additional documents or information, you will be contacted."

If you have any concerns about the medical in my opinion you should contact them and perhaps you should order CAIPS notes as well to help you determine what's going on.

Best of Luck

How long have you been waiting on your case?

They send a letter when there is a refusal I don't think they send the sponsor a letter of approval of PR Visa..

What are you talking about? You don't think or you don't know if............or you have no idea about this at all.
Who told you that they don't send letter to sponsor concerning visa approval?

First of all.. I SAID I DON'T THINK so no one takes my words as 100% BECAUSE from what I have heard from CIC and those that did get approved DID NOT receive a letter for approval. The spouse gets a passport request and then they are notified that the visa is ready for pick up! The sponsor's spouse could land in the country and you would have no clue unless you check ECAS.  This is the standard I have seen.  There is one circumstance I am told that you receive a letter for PR Visa approval is if the sponsor is listed as Representative.
NO need for the rudeness.. as we are all sharing our opinions or experiences. I CERTAINLY hope the OP gets good news.. no one wishes ill will on anyone but it's better to be prepared than not at all n'est pas?
I hope you get your answer soon 04102008 Smiley

They don't send a letter coz i didn't get one and my hubby was approved. They don't send a letter to the sponsor unless he/she is the reprentative. Is this the case? Did they ask for ur hubby's passport. If they didn't and the descion made shows up, then i think it is a bad news.

Why didn't they want to see the new evidance. This is ur right. If they did this, u will have a strong case if the descion turned to be a refusal. I think the best with Syria is to appeal.

Damascus office is full of BS, they refused my sister based on a stupid reason. they didn't even bother to ask for more info or do an interview. Then in the appeal, the judge was so easy on my sister coz she said that the IO didn't make any sense.

I just hope that this is not the case and that the damascus office has a weird way of doing stuff. good luck!

Keep us posted.

Hey 04102008,
I haven't seen case where the sponsor get a letter, but to be optimistic, maybe they have sent the same letter for you and your husband, to make sure you get the letter, after all we are here talking about the mail system in lebanon, so they might be asking for his passport. concerning the medical, I don't know, after all, they are people, maybe they miss typing down that they got the medical.
In my case , the person responsible for the file transfere, forget to to transfered , and remember after about 3 month...Smiley)
what mail address did you put originaly in your application?
I know it is the most hard experience on all of us, and it is taking all our power and peace of mind, but the issue that we have to stay calm in order to know what to do next.
can't you call your deputy again and let him do his research about the decision, most of the time, they give the MP or deputy, (don't know the right word for them), straight answer
I am praying for you, cause we all feel your fear and sadness, but after all God will help us all,...Good luck

nguyentu2001 , don't be made ,
we are all here trying to help ourself and other by posting our question, experience, fear, hope, confusion, opinion...
No one here has a book in front of him, and when there is question posted, he goes into his book by saying: ahah...the answer to this question is in page 106, section B1..!!!
All the post here contain reply on other question, are based on things that we have read over this forum or other, thing we saw on the immigration site, our own experience, our OWN opinion based on our OWN way of thinking.
No one post a 100% right reply, (except the Master of course, PMM and Leon), so take it easy, we are all under huge stress, and I guess , IN MY OWN OPINION, that the immigration has to offer us after that we are done a relaxation vacation, where we will be able to get ride of our anger and depression...Smiley
