Hi,

What was the duration of the maters 1yr or 2yrs ? Secondly i have heard that one applicant didnt get points for her masters because she did it from Allama Iqbal Open University as a private candidate and visa officer didnt give points for that because it was done as a distance learning without attending any full time classes. So i am afraid if this is how visa officers are taking then your spouse might not get any points for the bachelors and masters as he has done it privately.

Cheers

If your spouse is not principal applicant and just accompanying you then see this chart:

Note: You can only get your spouse points if he/s is accompanying you.

Spouse or common-law partner's level of education

Secondary school (high school) diploma or less: 0 points

A one-year diploma, trade certificate, apprenticeship or university degree, and at least 12 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies: 3 points

A two or three-year diploma, trade certificate, apprenticeship or university degree, and at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies: 4 points

A master's degree or PhD and at least 17 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies: 5 points

Regarding your education as private candidate, it shouldn't matter.

Hope it helps.

I was away so couldn't reply. Yes you can count points even having done degrees as private student, only if institution is recognized.
