Dear friends
Please clear my doubts if you have already gone through the process

I have submitted my file through a consultant. and in july 2010 I got a Letter from the consultant maintioning that my file has been sent to the canadian high commission and my REF. no. is as follows.

You have to wait for 120 days-150 days for further information.

Can anyone explain what does that mean?

Pllllllleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaasssssssseeeeeee HHHHHHeeeeeeeLLLLLLLLLLppppppppppp.

Thanks In Advance

Hi Moksh,

I am assuming this is the second AOR you received after sending ur file to local visa office thru ur consultant....please correct me if m wrong

Can you confirm did u send the docs to local visa office

this means that ur file has received by visa office and they will start processing for file ...

Hi,

Your query is not very clear to me but i am still answering in the best way i can.

First you receive 1st AOR from CIC which gives you 120 days to submit full documents to the visa office. Once you submit full docs visa office issue you another file number and tells you how much time it will take to process your application and that depends on each individual visa office and they mostly give 6 months time.
If your consultant has given you the file number you can check your case status online by entering that file number at cic website and it will show the application status.

Cheers

Thanks for replying

but when I check the file status through online thread it shows that the ref. no. is not valid.

so I want to know that when we submit our file do we get any ref. no.

and when the process on our file start do we get another file no.

thanks in advance

Ask your consultant to show you the original letter with file number. so you can get clear idea about what they said.
plus ask your consultant to show you your file status online.
It's not a rocket science what are you waiting till now?

Ask your consultant to send you the copy of the letter he recieved from visa office. There are two file numbers sent by the immigration one from CIC when you get your first approval and second when you send your full documents to local visa office and the acknowledge that they have received your documents. You can check the status with both file numbers. If you cannot see it ask your consultant to show you the online status. If he cant show you anything status or a letter then he is upto something.

Cheers
