Can my spouse come to Canada while in the process of application(have not received visa). If so, is it possible to receive the 'passport request letter' sent to the adress where my spouse will be residing in Canada? I have searched and called immigration but do not know where I'm supposed to notify immigration of the adress change. I always call the line I'm supposed to call but they are always so busy and we don't even have the option to wait on the line... the automated message just tells you to call back later.

How would the process go? Do they send a letter asking for the passport to the adress in Canada, we send it from Canada, then they send us the passport back(with PR visa) back to Canada?

My husband and I applied outland and hes now here in Canada with me on a visitor visa. He's been here almost 3 months and were applying for an extension. When my husband came up I printed off the email I was sent about me being approved to sponsor him and we showed our proof of payment of the immigration fees we also had bank account statements showing he had money to support himself.

Not 100% sure about address change. I know when I log into my ecas it gives me the opinion to change my address. But again not 100% sure how well that works.  As for calling honestly just keep calling and calling hang up try again. Start calling as soon as they open thats when I've had the most luck.  If hes in Canada he sends his passport to  Fort Erie.

Hope this helps.

If youve been approved for sponsorship you can log onto the Canadian immigration website with the client number they give you and check the status of your file.

https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en

I hope that link worked. When you get there scroll to the bottom and hit Continue. It'll bring you to a Terms and Conditions page click the box at the bottom that says "I have read, understood and agree with the above Terms and Conditions." Hit Continue again. ID Type you want Client ID Number The I put in my last name and my date of Birth and the Country you were born in and bam your there. At the top it shows your Address and asks you if you want to change it. Again if your going to do it there I would also call in not 100% sure how well it works on the website

Good Luck!

Yes, you should change your spouse's *mailing address* when they come to Canada.
