Hello Everyone,
I need your suggestions. I am thinking to ask my passport back from NDVO with or without stamp. Yesterday my employer gave me notice regarding my job. Now I HAVE to go join my company again otherwise they will fire me with in 2 weeks. Can I ask CIC to return my passports. My visa and work permit will expire in September 2012....
I know it was my biggest mistake to come back to India and submit the passport
Please please advice...
I sent an email to CIC NDVO and received this email:
Dear Sir/Madam,
This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi.
Under Canada's immigration legislation, all immigrant applications are subject to statutory requirements, including medical and background checks. These requirements must be satisfied before an applicant may be granted permanent resident status. In this context, certain background investigations are being conducted in connection with your application. As these investigations are conducted by outside agencies, we have no purview over the processing time. We are therefore unable to give an exact time frame in which we expect to conclude the verifications on this case.
For now, there is no action required on your part. Please be assured that as soon as the checks are completed the next steps in this application will be determined. Until then, we will not be able to provide any additional information on this case
We trust that this information will be of assistance.
Immigration Section - 8 High Commission of Canada PO Box 5209 7/8 Shantipath, Chanakyapuri New Delhi, India 110021
CIC en cashed my DD on 28th December 2011....
On line status:
We received your application for permanent residence on May xxx, 2011. We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on June xxx, 2011 to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us. Your application was reviewed and we started processing on November xxx, 2011. Medical results have been received (since 3rd January)
Many many thanks in advance

I would suggest you to wait till you get your passport back from CHC with PR Visa. Don't get scared of the notice from your employer. if you are fired, look for another job when you return to Canada as a PR. That is what easier than asking your passport at this stage back from CHC However, consider other opinions for a decision.

Hi, I agree with wilson. Also, I think that they will not return the passport bak in anycase. I dont know for sure, but my agent told me that.
As a PR, finding job in Canada will be easier, since you will have prior work experience in Canada. Just make sure that you get your reference/experience letter from your employer.

Hi Kapil, You already lived in Canada for some time and you know how to fetch a job here. Getting the PR visa is very hard and hectic task rather than finding a suitable job any where in Canada. Therefore, I suggested you don't step back from the place you stand now. Get the Visa and peacefully return to Canada. Even though the employer terminated your service, go back to them after you arrive in Canada and explain the situation, under which you could not respond to their notice. Most probably, I hope you will be re-instated. If, in case no chance, look around for another job. However, be brave and be positive. You will succeed. Good luck my friend. Cheers!!

First and foremost, inform your employer about your current situation and that nothing much can be done except write a letter to CIC, requesting them for passport with the visa, ofcourse. Nobody wants to loose a PR visa. Incase your employer can't accept it, just get the experience and relieving letters. After you get your PR visa, start looking for a new job with Canadian experience as well. I'm sure more employers will be interested in you than ever before.
All the best!!!!

Hi, no one can tell you exactly when you will get your passport back. It takes some people about a month others longer. I think the best thing to do is to wait for VO to issue you the PR visa. You've got the medical received line, that is almost the end of the process. I wouldn't be that worried if I was in your position. Mandie
