please need an advice i am soon to become PR

just recently i had an exit from montana, usa  for my permanent resident status...and my family is coming on june ....fro now i am so confused please i need an advice.... what happen if i decided not to let my family to come in canada..... could i still be an immigrant if i request from the Govt. not to take my family.... please please help me.....any advice is greatly appreciated..

Are we to understand that you and your family have gained a PR visa with you as the principal applicant and that you have landed as a PR but your family has not?

If that is the case, you can not decide by yourself not to take your family with you because if your family wants to land in Canada as PR's, they can.

If you and your family make a mutual decision that it would be best that they do not move to Canada at this point, they do not have to but it would be better if they land as PR's even if they go back afterwards.  The reason is that if they get the PR, they have up to 3 years they can live outside Canada before they lose it again but if they don't land and let the PR visa expire, you would have to sponsor them again if you change your mind and that can take months to get through.

Whether your family lands or not, you will still be PR because you have landed.

thank you so much for your reply leon i appreciate it so much.....yes my family has been approved also and i am principal applicant.....i just come to my mind that asking this question would give some idea......


my question again .... i already been in Montana for my exit as my main option to gain my PR here in Calgary  as approved...and my family as well and my question ..what if i well decided not to take them here even they are approved also would I still have get a PR card or not.....that really bothers me..please i need your advice

I had already answered your question.  You are principal applicant.  You get PR visa.  You land as PR.  You get PR card.

If your family is approved, they also get PR visa.  They can also land as PR.  They can also get PR card.  If they don't want, also ok.
