I am professionally a Chef and working in this field for over 8 years.  I started my career in 1999 and did my intership in a hotel for one year, at that time I had passed just intermediate (12 grades). After one year of training I got permanent job in that hotel. Then in 2004 I graduated in Commerce and then completed my MBA (Marketing) in 2007. I also have
intermediate knowledge of speaking and writing French language. Through out my career I have worked in Food production industry.

Now I want to file my case for Canadian Immigration. But I am confused as I don't have any college or university degree in my profession. Just one year of training in a hotel. Because here in Pakistan none of the universities offer any 2 or 4 years degree in Chef or cooking field. Currently I am doing one year Diploma in Advanced Food Production & Costing which will be completed in December 2009.

Will I get the full points for my qualification and exprience. And from where my experience will be count. Will it count from the start or after my graduation.

Secondly can I apply right now as my diploma will end in December 2009, despite I have 9 years of experience. And if yes then should I apply in Federal Skilled Worker or in Quebec category. Which is more fast and less complicated.

Waiting for the responses from sounds guys.

Thanks

Abbas Ali

Hi guys

Thanks a lot for your advice. The point here is can I apply right now as my diploma in Food Production will end in December 2009, or should I wait for it to be end.

Secondly what about Quebec? If I apply from it isn't it more fast. Please guide me in this confusion.

Regards

if i were you i'll wait till the diploma in food production is completed before applying because that might increase both your point and chances.
i'm in QSW program and things seem to be faster by my side and cannot compare it to FSW since i'm not in this program but some of my friends said QSW program is faster than FSW consedering their time frame and mine (we did it the same time!)

good luck
