Hi Everybody,

Let me wish you all a very happy New year 2009.

I am thinking of immigrating to Canada. I am presently in US for the last 3 years. I am working as oracle applications DBA for the last 6 years and as oracle DBA for previous 4 years.

Anybody has any idea how difficult/easy to find a job there in Canada in my Domain?

Regards

-Though I am not in your field, I can say that the answer to your question will vary from person to person. Sometimes it is easy to get a job in your field sometimes it is not. Canada gives emphasis on recruiting computer / IT professionals. If you have relatives, friends in here you may ask them to evaluate the situation of potential job opportunities for you. Again, there is no concrete answer of your query!

Some thoughts,

I have applied under 0213 (IT Infrastructure Manager, been in IT filed for the past 12 years under same heading). However, There is no guarantee in anything in life.. having said that. Let me get to the point. I have done some home work (North York, Ontario).  I contacted atleast 20+ plus recruiters. Their response was, MARKET demand are slow, and there are surplus of IT People in NORTH YORK. Bottom line, I would like to use the analogy of thinking i am buying a lottery ticket and will be an instant millionaire (the odds of landing a job is better than lottery). However, you can not have wishful thoughts.  Be prepared  for  lower skill job, until you find the right job. I hope this has been helpful.
