If the job you have is not health/food related then you don't need medicals. If the border is pretty close to you then it's worth a try. Bring the necessary requirements. And if you failed to get your new WP from the border then you still have time to send your WP application to Vegreville.
Let me briefly explain my situation. I have been working in Alberta since 2008 after I graduated in UofA. My PGWP will be expired at the end of Sep 2011 and I need to renew the WP (which will be a close WP) with positive LMO, which has been filed by my company at the beginning of July and I should get it in the middle of Aug, hopefully.
Right now the processing time for WP is 2 months. I was wondering if I can get my new WP at the border in Alberta without entering US. I am from HK so I don't need visa to enter Canada, but I do need a visa to enter US. I have been living here since 2002 and I did my medical exam at that time. So if I apply it at the border, do I need to re-do the medical exam? My occupation is pharmacist, which is considered as a health professional.
If I choose to apply online, should I choose apply WP (same employer), or WP(new employer). I did not change my employer since my graduation.
Thanks for your help x 100000000
