I landed in July 2005 and left after one month. Now I am moving permanently to Canada. I have 10 months to complete 3 years out of Canada. I need some information that and will appreciate if PMM or any one can please guide me.

1.   I have not filed my tax return for 2006 and 2007 and need the address of a consultant or legal advisor?
2.   Can you please guide me regarding a reasonable accommodation in Toronto? The accommodations on the internet are very
             expensive.
3.   I have not registered for health card. Is there any problem with this if I request now and how can I do it?

Thank you in advance for your good cooperation.

1.  If you didn't earn Canadian income, then you don't need to file a tax return.
2.  You will require 3 months of residency in Ontario before you are eligible for OHIP.
3.  Accommodation?  Your on your own for that.

As replied, if you didn't earn any salary no need to fill out any income tax returns, but if you did and you don't own any monies to the gouvernement, you won't be penalized for not filling them out. You can do so anytime and fill it out yourself, it isn't complicated, just follow the instructions or you can go see a  tax consultant to fill it out, it should cost around 50$... less maybe if you are a student or on welfare. The important thing is to fill it out, they will get you one way or another if you owe them money..hehe.

As for accomodations you could look for ads that are looking for a roomate, but make sure when you do meet the person to ask questions so that you don't end up with a roomate from hell or put an ad looking for a roomate and do ask for a resumé, job references, make sure they are not on drugs etc and mostly that they have a job and check into that to make sure that it is true. Be very thorough..your best bet would be through an agency that finds roomates and therefore have already checked them out but do be careful just the same.
