I have printed 100 pictures of me and my wife together + our wedding pictures + pictures of me with her family members. Do I have to put detailed comments behind each pictures?

ex:
- this is me and my wife at the beach
- this is me and my wife's mother
etc...

Many people do detail who, what, where and when  (I did).

Yes what i did was write detailed comments

Agim (applicant) me (sponsor) at perissa beach, santorini Greece June 2009.

If I knew the exact date i wrote it, otherwise i put the month and year.
If there was a friend or family member in the photo I wrote their name and relation ex. Nikos (Agims brother) ..... Try and be specific.

I took the lazy way out and did it in word... made a long table, 2 column. Put the picture on the left, date/description on the right. Made it easy to put it in chronological order too.

Yes, put comments.  But, don't you think 100 photos is a bit much?  They won't look at that many.  We submitted maybe 20.  A couple of wedding photos, and then most of the others are us together with family and friends or on holidays.

We submited 150 photos, but only because we went back over 13 years of being together, we didnt really write any comments, we sent in 8 wedding photo like they asked, the rest were of us with family/friends and on our own, they can see from the photos that we have aged, plus my hubby sent the package in from Canada and he decided that if they couldnt tell from the photos ours was a genuine relationship and the length we have been married(12 years) then there is no hope lol. We submitted 85 photos, going back over 7 years.  On the back of each photo, I wrote who was in the photos, where it was taken, and when it was taken.

Then, because I'm anal about stuff like that, I put the photos into separate envelopes, according to the year they were taken lol.

I know you all did it but where does it say the pictures needed to be dated and where it was taken needed to be on it

Just wondering if its necessary

I remember it saying to date and say where the picture was taken for your wedding photo's but not for the others that you send, I just remember it saying for the wedding ones. Smiley

It doesn't say, but you are using the photos as evidence your relationship is genuine. Therefore some info about the photos is necessary. You don't want the visa officer to think all the pictures were taken on one day to provide evidence. As well, the photos are being used to prove you have met each other's families and friends, and have traveled together, so noting who is in the photos and where they were taken is necessary to show this.

I guess thats more ture if you havnt been together long and the photos dont really show changes such as growing older and things like that. If we had not been married long then yeah i probably would have done that, but they can clearly see from our photos how much we have changed and aged. Plus they can see how much our daughters have grown and had families of thier own and how my parents have aged ect Sounds bad lol but true. Tongue

True. In my case, even though our photos were taken over a period of several years, the visa officer said all the photos looked the same. I don't have many clothes, so it is true that photos from 2007 and yesterday might well show me wearing the same outfit! I guess one more piece of 'photo' advice is to make sure you and your partner look sufficiently different in each if possible.
