Hubby and I are moving to Newfoundland in the near future  Cheesy had enough of Ontario ! besides Newfoundland is so much nicer .

Wow - it've seen pics and Newfoundland looks so beautiful!  I've heard it's hard to find work though - unless you are professionals?  I'm in school and intend to complete my studies in Canada once I get my PR and I'm hoping finding work won't be a problem in Alberta.....

Actually pseudowolf, we constantly are getting people from the mainland coming here and telling us how much easier and relaxing it is to find a job here. They are more open-minded here. And Newfoundland is beautiful when it isn't foggy. Lol.  Tongue

Oh very awesome linalizzie. Well I am an East Coast Girl so I can see where it would be a bit of change for you. I am sure me going to CA would be a great and refreshing trip as well. Glad you enjoyed going to VA. It is a lovely state.

eyeoftheocean: Oh no way!! That is so cool.  Cheesy What part do you think you will be coming to? I haven't been to Ontario but we have a friend from NL living over there and he has almost crawled to get back here. that was enough to let me though Ontario must be a great place to visit but not for everyone to live at. I enjoy the slower pace of life and friendly people. Newfoundland is just the place for that.

Yaaayyy were coming soon, just waiting for PR then looking to buy property there , maybe near St Johns ..been looking at jobs out there too , in laws have lived in Ontario all their life and have got to the stage where they have had enough, being taxed on everything, having to buy beer and liqour specifically in gov owned stores and many many more reasons, they will be moving there in a few years though they still have a few years of working before retiring .Ontario isnt for me, Im from Yorkshire , England and to move where the land is flat is driving me nuts ..I need hills and Irish sounding people, then I will feel at home  Cheesy

Really?  That's great!  My fiancee has spent a decade chasing a permanent contract and I'm back in school to pursue my passion, so an easy job market would be a refreshing change!!!!!  How is the job situation for teachers out there?  And are there any video game developers?  I'll have my degree in a couple of years!  LOL

I am not sure about the teacher industry but I can look. In the last year alone, there were a few new big schools built and this is a small area so I am confident you could find a teaching career here as well. I do know there is a video game developing place here. It is called Ocean Interactive and one of their places is based in St. John's. They pay a hefty salary too. I will post a link to the jobs around NL right below this post. Obviously there are more than show on the link but this gives a good idea. Nice to see people interested in coming here. It really is a growing community with friendly people. Wish you lots of luck to both of you.  Grin
