Hello Guys

I just received my passport request and I need some clarification regarding size of photographs. The website says "The frame size must be at least 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8″ x 1 3/4″)".

Does that mean, I can send 2" x 2"; the generic passport size photo's?

The generic passport size photo's is way unexpensive than 35mm x 45mm size photo's.

Any clarification is highly appreciated.

Thanks

The standard size of photo required by CIC as per their photo specification is 35x45 MM. You should not send 50x50 mm (2"x2").
For US visa applications  2'x2" size photos are required.

Hello
Wilson

Thanks for your prompt reply; that what I thought too. but the specification says at least 35* 45mm. so my understanding was it can be bigger than that but not smaller.
Anyway, I will send 35mm*45mm; just do not want to take a chance.

Thanks

congrats on your passport request.

I think in the passport request, they remind you of the appendix about photo specification. The fact that they mention this, in my opinion, means that it has to be followed.

Anyway, all you have to do is printout the photo specs and show it to the photographer taking the photo and he/she already knows how to take the picture. IMHO too, never mind if they are more expensive than 2X2 photos at least this whole process is almost over for you, all you have to do after sending the passport and photos is wait for your PR visa and COPR. isn't that the best?  Smiley

Look in your visa office checklist photo requirements,  print out the photo requirements pages,  there is a rectangle with the exact size needed, take this to photographer with the other specifications.  If you send incorrect photos you will waste valuable time.
