Hi SG & Seema
But if i complete the course of RA in canada then also i need to clear PEBC ?? Is there any way to be registered bypassing PEBC ?
Nikhil
Hi Nikhil, if you want to register urself as pharmacist, then PEBC is mandatory. their is no way that u can by by-pass. you can correlate this with India after you have completed your B.pharm or D.pharm, you must have registered ureslf with Pharmacy Council of India to have licence for a pharmacist in India, although we didn't have to give any exam in India. however in Countries like US and Canada, to be a registered pharmacist u need to clear the exam i.e PEBC for Canada. Hope this helps. Regards SG

Hi, sorry, not too sure what RA stands for but even the Canadian grad pharmacists are required to take the Pharmacist Qualifying Exams, so you need to pass the exam before you can register as a pharmacist. Source ( http://www.pebc.ca/index.php/ci_id/3374/la_id/1.htm) RA stands for Regulatory affairs..a department in pharmaceutical industry - deals with submission of dossiers/ documents pertaining to drugs and medical devices to seek approval from health authorities, so that one can launch that particular drug/ medical device in that country. hope this clears. Regards SG

Hello guys, please comment on the below update by CIC on their website....
Total complete applications received since July 1, 2011
On July 1, 2011, the eligibility criteria for Federal Skilled Worker applicants changed.
Between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012, a maximum of 10,000 complete Federal Skilled Worker applications will be considered for processing. Within the 10,000 cap, a maximum of 500 Federal Skilled Worker applications per eligible occupation will be considered for processing within this same time frame.
Starting November 5, 2011, CIC will accept a total of 1,000 applications from international students who have completed at least two years of study towards a PhD and or who graduated from a Canadian PhD program in the 12 months before the date their application is received by CIC. Find out more about eligibility for this category or see the number of applications received to date on this site.
These limits do not apply to applications with an offer of arranged employment (job offer).
Applications received toward the overall cap: 2,983 of 10,000 as of October 31, 2011
Applications received per eligible occupation:
Eligible Occupation (by National Occupational Classification [NOC] code) Number of Complete Applications Received* 0631 Restaurant and Food Service Managers 330 0811 Primary Production Managers (except Agriculture) 28 1122 Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management 500 1233 Insurance Adjusters and Claims Examiners 68 2121 Biologists and Related Scientists 218 2151 Architects 120 3111 Specialist Physicians 172 3112 General Practitioners and Family Physicians 179 3113 Dentists 220 3131 Pharmacists 402 3142 Physiotherapists 44 3152 Registered Nurses 500 3215 Medical Radiation Technologists 16 3222 Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists 14 3233 Licensed Practical Nurses 83 4151 Psychologists 26 4152 Social Workers 115 6241 Chefs 26 6242 Cooks 61 7215 Contractors and Supervisors, Carpentry Trades 36 7216 Contractors and Supervisors, Mechanic Trades 69 7241 Electricians (except Industrial and Power System) 36 7242 Industrial Electricians 32 7251 Plumbers 6 7265 Welders and Related Machine Operators 15 7312 Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics 14 7371 Crane Operators 3 7372 Drillers and Blasters – Surface Mining, Quarrying and Construction 4 8222 Supervisors, Oil and Gas Drilling and Service 36 *The number of complete Federal Skilled Worker applications received as of October 31, 2011 is approximate.
**Once the cap has been reached, we can only accept applications for this occupation from people with an existing offer of arranged employment.
Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, the CIO cannot review each application for completeness on the same day it arrives at the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but these figures are meant as a guide only. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it reaches the CIO. We are looking into ways to minimize the effect of this on website updates.

So by adding a paragraph about cap CIC itself solved the very argumented discussion of this forum..... Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, the CIO cannot review each application for completeness on the same day it arrives at the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but these figures are meant as a guide only. This is my second try after first attempt of failure to provide enough evidence of work experience in July 2011. If you don't try again, you will never know.
