Just a correction, applying for a SIN card takes at most an hour, you get the SIN on the spot and the SIN card comes in mail within a week or two. You do not need to wait for your SIN card to start working, just need your SIN (number).

hi seema

I think fd is not good as we have to show liquid cash in dollars.

This money should be in our hands and govt policy is that you should not be in low funds

and start crying on reaching there, this money will help you as SIN card & PR Card takes

2-4 weeks and without SIN card we are not supposed to work.

Hi Nikhil, you are in Canada?
I am in India still. will be landing in Totonto in March 2012.

I am also in same situation as yours.
Regulatory affairs 1.5 yrs experience.
Canadian experience ir requires, but it is all a matter of luck.
You can do any course there & then it will become a little bit easier.

http://www.high-demand-jobs.com/2011/11/november-2011-visa-bulletin.html

November 2011 Visa Bulletin

As of November 10, 2011, Centralized Intake Office already received a total of 3,809 applications from the 29 in-demand occupations under Ministerial Instruction 3 (MI-3). Only a maximum of 10,000 applications will be received with a cap of 500 for each occupation. The cap for Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management and Registered Nurses have been reached few months ago. The next three applications nearing its cap are:

3131 Pharmacists 476
3113 Dentists 256
2121 Biologists and Related Scientists 261

For the complete list, visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

Please note that the list is not a real-time tally and is meant as guide only. There are information circulating in some forums that the cap for nurses has been reached as early as mid of July 2011 and that those filed after July 15 will all be returned unprocessed. We have a couple of applications (nurses) received by CIO on July 15 that was already returned because according to the letter, the cap was already reached. We have yet to receive the assessment results for nurse applicants filed July 15 onwards. But for other occupations, those filed up to August 12, already received the assessment results.

The first published MI-3 update on the number of applications received was dated July 21 and with only a total of 26 applications from registered nurses. If the cap was indeed reached as early as July 15, it sure did not serve as a guide. It somehow mislead many applicants. We have written Minister Kenny to protest this grave injustice.
