Hi fellow Pharmacists! I am new to this thread. I am from Philippines. I apologize that I was unable to share how my PR application went. When I started my application I was unaware that this blog exists. I came across this blog 2 weeks before I received my visa. At the height of my anxiety I accidentally opened this forum. Meaning, I was able to vent my feelings in other threads only for 2 weeks because I received my visa thereafter. My application went smoothly. My consultant sent my documents to Nova Scotia last week of January 2011. I'm sorry I can't remember the exact date. 2nd week of Feb 2011 I was notified that they're forwarding my documents to Manila V.O. for review. Then they informed me on April 4 that I am for medical. I had a minor surgery for keloid so I decided to have my medical later which i did on last week of May. 2nd week of June, Manila V.O. prompted that my med results were ok and had my PPR. August I received my visa. I had to remind my consultant to check my visa with the V.O. coz my ecas has long since changed from IN PROCESS to DECISION MADE. I was scared coz it was possible that the officer made a decision to reject me. 2 weeks after my consultant told me they have my visa. My visa was stamped August 4, 2011 and will expire May 16, 2012. The reality of residing in Canada only set in when I received my visa. My POE is Calgary but I don't know anyone there. I spend most of my time now researching for a place to live. I plan to migrate in Canada on March next year. As I read this thread there were queries that I could have answered but I failed because I learned about this blog only few days before I received my visa. If I could be of any help please feel free to message me. As for my concerns, I am having a dilemma which place in Canada to reside. By the way, I am also a nurse but I applied as a Pharmacist FSW. My first passion is Pharmacy so I would like to ace my Pharmacy skills & practice as Pharmacy assistant for awhile. My questions are:
1.) Is Calgary a good place to practice our profession? Are we in demand in Calgary? Is there anyone here who has taken the bridging course for Pharmacy Technician in Bow Valley University?
2.) How about Toronto? Is the place already saturated with Pharmacists? How about taking the exams in this city? And schools for bridging courses?

I apologize if these questions are too much. I will also do my job in researching the answers for these but would gladly appreciate your inputs. God bless us all!

**Once the cap has been reached, we can only accept applications for this occupation from people with an existing offer of arranged employment.

Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, the CIO cannot review each application for completeness on the same day it arrives at the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but these figures are meant as a guide only. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it reaches the CIO. We are looking into ways to minimize the effect of this on website updates.
