My wife (an American Citizen) is currently living with me (a Canadian Citizen) in Canada and working on a Post-Graduate Work Permit.  I am wondering if there is a special application needed to adjust her status or if a general Family Class (Spousal) Sponsorship Application is all that is needed?  I am also assuming that she can stay in Canada while her case is being processed because she does have status/a work visa in Canada.  Is my assumption correct?

I have taken a look at the Family Class Sponsorship Forms and am having trouble with completing question 6 of IMM1344A (Application to Sponsor and Undertaking).  I would greatly appreciate some help with this.  Also, for question 14 of IMM5540 (Sponsor Questionnaire), should I be informing the individuals I list that CIC will be contacting them, or is this not the purpose of the question?

I am sure I will have lots more questions, but any answers to the questions I posed above would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

Josh
