Hello,

I was told 30 working days to receive the PR-card, can everyone out there give me your feedback on when you actually received yours after landing, assuming you gave your address of residence during landing?

I have a vacation booked for June 1st and im hoping it comes, i know its a little unrealistic but maybe.

Already got my SIN card, Alberta Ident Card, Alberta Health Card. Just really need that one,

Thank you,

5 weeks for my husband.

I think 4 1/2 weeks is the fastest I've read about on these boards.

Usually 6-8 weeks, not sure who told you 30 days..they never commit to 30 days and they usually say 6-8 weeks in the airport.

You are very tight with your vacation on June 1, you would need a travel document to enter Canada if you do not get your PR card by say Friday.

It is 30 days but working days, so it is about 6 regular weeks. Currently, according to processing times updated 25 May, it is 34 working days, so seven weeks. I am planning to travel 3 June and I landed 11 April and still no card. Hope it arrives soon.

I appreciate the help,

Im speaking of only those who provided an address during landing. I understand it takes much longer through the regular application process or renewals.

Can anyone who provided their address during landing post their timeline?

thank you,

Not sure what you mean, EVERYONE who lands need to give a Canadian address, even if you have one in the application they will ask you to cross check and confirm the Canadian address.
This is the regular first time PR Card process.

Nope, as clearly indicated during landing if you do not provide a canadian address the PR-card will not be mailed out to you. One must go through the application process thereafter,

Many people dont know exactly where they will be living when arriving in Canada.

As everybody was saying in this thread, your PR card will arrive within 6-8 weeks in the address you have indicated when you land (at the airport or at the border).  I've seen very few people who got it in 5 weeks so you are safe to assume it will arrive in 6-8 weeks that is if Canada Post doesn't decide to go on strike.

Did you read my post, i mentioned you will NEED a Canadian address when you land.

This is a family sponsorship forum which means...you usually have your hubby/wife living/working IN CANADA when your partner lands (few expections being citizen also being out of the country and comming back )
and how come your sponsor does not have a physical address in Canada?

My husband provided our address when he landed. Took five weeks to get the card. When I posted our PR card time lines, others who provided their address when they landed said that five weeks was very fast.

The vast majority of people provide an address when they land since this is a landing requirement. Not providing an address is the exception.

I landed on April 23rd and no card yet. And I have travel plans to fly out on June 16th. Wondering whether I should change my plans now!

Anybody with similar timeline? Thanks!

You should call the call centre and ask them. Although 30 business days is the norm, I was told my husband's card was selected with a whole batch of other carda for addirional quality control measures. They said this additional check could take a few more months. Its a way of them auditing the work of the employees that make the cards. Btw my husband landed on 13th April 2011. This is the answer we got from the call centre on 3rd June 2011.

OMG! I landed on April 13 too. I called them yesterday and they said my card was not even made yet... it was in the scanning stage or something. Tomorrow marks 8 weeks since I landed. The processing times are  6-8 weeks or according to their site 34 business days. Either way... it should have been made or on it's way to me with or without the postal strike by now. The call centre rep said according to processing times, my card should have been made by June 3rd the latest. Maybe mine may have been caught up in that quality control thing. Just my luck. Good thing I didn't book any tickets in advance as I had planned to travel this month.
