Permanent Residence going for vacation??

Hi, i have a friend who is a Permanent Residence here in Ottawa,and she wants to study in her country in Philippines??If you are a Permanent Residence in Canada how long do you need to stay out of the country??just in case before 6months she will come back again,to restore he Permanent residency.Is she allowed to comeback in the Philippines again and back to Ottawa before 6months??How is this possible??is there anyway to remain Permanent Resident of Canada even though you want to stay in other country??please help??

You have to reside in Canada for 2 years in every 5 year period.
