Hi everyone,

At what point during an application for permanent residence do you become eligible for domestic tuition fees? After first-stage approval? Only after finalizing? Only after receiving your actual permanent residence card?

Many thanks for any help,
Mike

After becoming a PR (you don't need to have received the card). I'm not sure if first-stage approvals get domestic tuition, but I don't think so.

Dear friend,
You will get the privilege of a domestic student only after u have a PR card. Many of the universities ask for a copy of PR card. Some universities permit you to start application process as an internaltional student, but you can change the status (the admission process takes apporx a year) when u get the PR.

No, this is not true. You do not need to get the PR card first; you are entitled to pay domestic tuition on the date of your landing.

You can send a copy of either your PR card or your COPR as proof of status.
