hello,

can you sponsor your spouse from overseas if you are on one of these pensions?

and can some one tell me if these pensions are similar or same as to welfare or social assistance? because i know one can not sponsor spouse if you are on social assistance so give me some replies freinds.


1) supplemental income
2) old age pension
3) cpc canada pension plan


is he elligible to sponsor his spouse from overseas if he is on one of these pensions?

He'd have to contact CIC and ask.  CPP is probably considered like EI.  It's not social assistance, it's more like insurance.  You pay into it and then it's your right to take out of it again when you get old.  As for the other ones I don't know.  If he doesn't live in Canada, then he's probably not getting anything else from Canada other than CPP.
