PCC INdia delayed URGENT SR plz help

Hi,

I have applied for a PCC ( Iam indian, husband british - he was indian passport holder before) but it is being delayed and i have to submit all documents by ist week august 2009.

I have applied via the indian embassy in the gulf but have had no luck so far and is being delayed. We have no untoward/bad police record in India

What shall I do now? Plz advice

I enquired about applying locally in Kolkata India but no body in the police dept seems to know the exact application process and am getting very conflicting views from the local police.

Hi,
If his passport is issued from India it may be delayed above 45 days. If it is issued from the same embassy where you have applied now, it will be fast. The only possibility to speed up is that please visit the Consular Officer at the indian Embassy personally and mention your urgency, so that he may help (?)!. All other methods will be perhaps more time consuming.  Best of luck.
