PCC from US

Hi Senior Members,

I am applying for PR from New Delhi. During 2006-07, I lived in US for more than 6 months in Missouri state. 

   I need a PCC from the IPO in Delhi.
+ I need a FBI Certificate with fingerprints.

Not sure if I need another Criminal Record Check from the MO state.
Please help....

If yes, how do I apply for the same since I am in India from past 2 years.

State police clearance certificates are no more mandatory. This is from the website www.cic.gc.ca

Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?

Yes. Applicants should provide a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) certificate with fingerprints. State certificates may also be requested. The Visa Office will advise you if state certificates are required in your case.

As said above, It is not mandatory to submit State PCCs. But if the Visa Office requests- you will have to submit. As you are not in US it will take time to get a state PCC if the Visa Office requests.
To be on a safer side you can get it ready in order to quickly sent your documents once u get AOR, or wait for AOR and do accordingly.
I think you have already started with your FBI PCC process........be very careful with the QUALITY of the FINGERPRINTS you submit.

Yikes... Today, CIC updated the page again on police clearance from states ...

the link to the States is back.   You should be able to find info on Missouri now.  They have both fingerprint and non-fingerprint options, you should choose the fingerprint option.  Look for instructions for non-residents.

Doesn't say if they will advise you before or after you apply  

I'm concerned now about how to interpret this, because CIC Buffalo still seems to expect them, by default. 

You might want to contact CIC New Delhi to find out if you need it or not.  Tell us what they say!

I emailed to ask Buffalo to be sure... they confirmed that they would inform applicants if they needed State PCCs... presumably it's the same for other local offices.

My permanent address is state of Texas, and temporary address to stay for is California.
I have texas drivers license only.
please suggest me from which state I need FBI certificate. Right now I am staying in california since 8months, and visit texas to my home.

I am indian citizen on H1B.
even work in 3european countries:
Germany 1year 6months,
France 1year
Italy 2years 6months.
so, I need PCC from all above country too or what?
its not possible to get it from all of above country.

FBI is Federal, not state.  You do not need any state clearance at this time.  You do need an FBI -

yes you need PCCs from all of those.  Yes, it is possible (though not fun).

You need one from EVERY COUNTRY you have lived in for at least 6 months, since you were 18 years old.  You need one from INDIA.  If you are in the US you will have to apply through your nearest consulate/embassy.

means I need from India, Germany, France , USA.. my god... this is the worst process I think... I have t apply at all consulate/embassy.

what about funds, I need to show at the time of filing or later? and what about visa fees, its also I have to send with filing?

Hi all,

This might be of help to u all.U can get ur fingerprinting done from M/S J. K. Consultancy for PCC from USA, State police and UAE and for any country. They are the only government certified expert in India and have done it for more than 500 people. The recording of fingerprinting activity is generally complete in 20 to 25 min and they do it on FD 258 card that they said that are send to them from FBI.

JKC may be little costly. They quoted Rs.3500/- for finger printing. But I have red on forum that these guys are good.

Alternatlively you can find finger print experts in disctricy courts and property regisrty offices

You will have to send the application fee to Candian High Commision now, but you will not need to show the funds at the time of application , Candian High Commision will send you a letter after the submission of your application for this
also you will need to get all your PCC from Germany France and all countries you have stayed after your 18 birthday
