My police certificates are to expire on 30th of June and i am yet to get an AOR i sent my application on 12th march. Had some credit card issue so updated the information and they shall charge it but it delayed me for one month.
If i get next week then my PCCs will be expired

Do i need to apply with new PCCs or as per the guide

"these should not be older than 3 months when ones appliucation reached to CIO"

Could anybopdy please shed some light on this

I have a question on similar doubts, hope i am not hijacking ur thread...

I believe when you send out full docs to visa office then there is ( i believe) a restriction on how old the pcc should be.

My question: does the PCC has validity date as well....lets say 1 yr from the date of issue.
I sent all those when i submitted my full docs and now I am worried cuz if i dont get PR in a month or so, my PCCs will be older then a year...need ur 2c...

Hi,

 @  canadacanada
Normally PCC's are valid for 6 months but CIC requirement is that it should not be 3 months old at the time of submitting full docs. Once its submitted then its fine if its expired in the process. You dont have to get a new one. But its should not be older than 3 months at the submission time.

 @ Cuccoo0

You will need to get a new PCC if you wont be able to send it before 30th June as it will be older than 3 months and even if you submitted CHC will ask you to obtain a new one, so better get a new one now and avoid delay in your application later.

Cheers

The requirement is that PCC should not be older than three months from date of application to CIO. Unless there is a expiry date mentioned on PCC your PCC will not expire if issues with in 90 days from your date of application to CIO

You'll have to clarify what you mean by "expire on June 30" - were they issued on March 30?  (3 months).  Note that CIC only cares about its own rules - it doesn't care if a country says a PCC is valid for 6 months - irrelevant to CIC.

You quoted the instructions above, so it's not clear what the confusion is.

You sent the application on March 12, you don't say when it was received at CIO (did you have tracking?) - that is the important date.  Let's say it was March 15 for example.  Assuming that your PCCs were issued on March 30, then clearly they are not more than 3 months old at the time your application arrived at CIO.  The delay in AOR does not matter - that does not change the date that the application was received at CIO.

Hi Saki - actually, it is not at the time of submitting full docs, it is at the time of submitting the initial application to CIO.

Please see p. 20 of the current instruction guide:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf

"When you submit the application to the visa office please ensure that your certificates were not issued more than three months before you submitted your application to the CIO."

Hi guys
Thanks for prompt replies.
Well the situation is i applied on 12th March and as per CIC they received my application on 15th March. Before sending the documents i started collecting the PCCs as i was also to get one from FBI. Keeping in mind their time line i applied for that even before sending my application.

Same way for the PCCs from pakistan. One of the PCC from Pakistan was issued on 30th June (though by that time my application was received by CIO). As per the guide and as mentioned by you guys i am on safe side.

I understand your point.

But the issue is that on PCCs from pakistan its written that these arenot valid for more than 90 days.

Hopefully this situation is clear for you to reply now

Waiting

Well the situation is i applied on 12th March and as per CIC they received my application on 15th March.

March 15 is your lock-in date, then.

Before sending the documents i started collecting the PCCs as i was also to get one from FBI. Keeping in mind their time line i applied for that even before sending my application.

But you still don't say what the date is on the FBI certificate Smiley   I'm guessing you're OK, though.

But the issue is that on PCCs from pakistan its written that these arenot valid for more than 90 days.

Not an issue.  As I indicated, CIC cares only about its own rules.  Keep in mind, though, CIC can also ask for new certs any time it wants, doesn't mean that the ones you already sent are invalid.

Is there something you're still not sure about?

PCC UPDATION DATED: IMM EG7000 (07-2010)

When you submit the police certificates to the visa office, ensure they have been issued in the last three months and no earlier. Certificates that are more than three months old on receipt will not be accepted
