Hi all, finally ready to submit the application (outland) but when we try to pay (with a Canadian VISA card) it keeps saying "payment failed".  We've contacted RBC and they say all is fine at their end so the problem is with CIC.  Of course, from outside Canada you cannot contact CIC.

Anyone else experienced problems with online payment system?

Really frustrated here!

Are you selecting the correct location for payment, i.e. Mississauga?

Hello,

I had the same problem with my card just yesterday when i tried to pay.
I was paying with a Debit Visa from the USA though. I figure it kept failing because not a credit card.
I ended up paying with my Canadian American Express, and no problem with that.
As for contacting CIC... here is my trick
Call Immigration Refugee Canada, I cant remember the 1800 number but the local number is
613-995-6486
There the operator tells you to select from the following.
You select 1, 1, 0
This will transfer you to the CIC line, and TADAAAAA!!!!
The lady says Welcome to Citizenship and  Immigration Canada.
Then just listen and select what it tells you.
I usually listen for the first part to pass then press, 1, 1, 1, and 0, then they put u on hold.
Hope this helps  Cheesy

Thanks Malirca, good suggestion - it worked right up to the very last step but then instead of putting us on hold, it disconnected us  Sad

Hi spiritrac - sounds like the same thing we had - when did this happen and how did you resolve the problem?

Cheers

You have to make sure all the info is correct. I had the same issue using my work Mastercard, but once I correctly entered the details Like address of cardholder, name on cards etc it worked out.

If you get the busy signal after the 'rigamarole' just try again and again, just means they are busy, and when the queue reaches a certain number they just start kicking callers off until the numbers get back down again.

Cheers

Keep trying to call.
When you hear the first operator, press 1, 1, 0 right away.
Sometimes it disconnects but other times it doesn't.
I was just on the phone today and it did the same thing.
The office is probably closed now though, so you would have to try tomorrow.
But the first operator have to press numbers and not listen.
the second listen

We tried paying online too.  Twice failed! And has been charged to my husband's credit card!
Oh what to do? Are we gonna wait for 2 months for refund??? We can show the bank the transaction failed slip...

Hi,

I now am having this problem and I was wondering what did you have to do?

I am not currently in Canada. I made the payment through RBC, it gave me the "failed transaction" message ... I called RBC, they said it is shows to be OK and the payment went through and they can't do anything about it and I have to call the merchant. What was the steps you took at that point? I would appreciate any input.
