Dear All,

I have got PR Card...Now I am about to leave for Qatar working for non-Canadian company. I have got few questions and I hope you guys will help me out with your precious knowledge...Suggestions are also welcome Smiley

1. Do I need to pay tax to Canadian Govt while I am out of country?
2. Can I sponsor my spouse while I am staying in Qatar through any lawyer? Considering that I will be paying taxes and can afford my family expenses and all
3. If I am paying taxes...will they count my days in Qatar for mandatory citizenship duration?

Regards,

Ahmer

1.  Depends if you are a taxpayer and have residential ties with Canada;
2.  Only canadian citizens can sponsor their spouse outside Canada
3.  Canadian citizenship require physical residence in Canada.  Working for canadian company abroad only counts toward PR.
