As I continue to prepare my application (we're sending it off either May 23 or June 6th), there something on the application that bothers me.  I wish to make sure that when I do answer, I answer it correctly and honestly, as that's the best policy when it comes to these applications.

Now, I'm worried that my application might be compromised because when I first came to canada to be with my husband and not knowing how the rules worked, I was refused entry because I didn't have sufficient funds.  However, the officer said if I brought back X amount of money and a return ticket I would be allowed in, which is what I did, after freaking out and calling him about what happened.  I ended up staying the full six months and then some, when I tried to extend my stay.  Unfortunately, I was refused for that (and after a year I can see why, I'd refuse me too), and I thought that if I went to the states for a weekend, I could come back, and the clock started again (i know better now).

When I came back to Canada the officer grilled me for about two hours before ordering me to travel back to my original point of entry, the peace arch crossing, and I had to be there by a certain time for "further examination", which is what I did.  I found out that I was being sent back to the states, and I didn't put up a fuss.  As hurt as I was, I went back to Chicago.  They made me sign a form say I voluntarily did it, and a removal order was never issued.  Since then, I've never had any issues in crossing the border, but I know it's because I'm not trying to stay.

Could this negatively affect my application?  I've never been deported, and I was refused for a reason I came back and rectified.  Thanks for your help.
