This is for my past employers, but they closed. What should I do to get employment certificates?

can you contact your supervisor/friend from previous organisation? if yes then they can write an email on their current letter head explaining the job duties and attach their visiting card.

You can write a covering letter with all details and as many proofs of the job as you can provide.

HI Brent

If you have any of experience letter from closed organization even without any job/ duties mentioned, then it can be used but dont forget it mentioned in your covering letter to CHC.
I had 3 years of experience from a organization and the same was closed a long ago due to some dispute. I mentioned it in my covering letter and send a copy (not original) of old experience letter without any job/ duties mentioned.

they may ask you to get a statement to say you worked for the company for X amount of time and that they are now closed, and have it notarized (at least that is what I was advised to do)

Thanks! I was able to do it today!  I just went to the notary this afternoon and all went well! Mucho gracias!
