Dear PMM,

My passport is expiring 19-Nov-2007.
My medicals was done 20-Oct-2006.

I have received PPR and asked to submit Passports before 30-Dec-2006.

Should I renew my passport as someone told me that passports should be valid for a year from now.

Till when will the stamped visa be valid, a year from now or a year from the medical test date.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

It is in your intrest to have passport that are valid for a minimum of one year as this is the max time for the expiry of visa.

The visa will expire in the event of ANY ONE of the following:
1. One year from the date of medicals; or
2. Expiry of the passport.

Since his COPR will expire 20/10/07, year from the medical which is less than the expiry of the passport, he really doesn't need to renew it.
