Passport Validity Issue, Please comment.

Guys,

in PR and Medical in letter that we recieved, its says passport must be valid until April 2012.

My wife's passport is expiring in January 2012.

My concerns is ,

Should we Inform to Embassy regarding new/renewal passport OR it would be okay to submit old (valid through 01-2012) Along new/renewed Passport?

Sometime, Immigration won't renew passport as its still valid for 1 year, we will try our best, just in case if they refused to renew, what would be solution?

Please comment.

Well..i dont think there is any need. Same happened in my case. Visa is stamped for one year from the date of medical or till the validity of passport...which ever is earlier. If your passports are expiring within one year time, visa will be valid till that date only. This means you have to complete landing formalities before passport expires.

If the difference in period validity is longer, better apply for new passport, that is not an issue in immigration for any reason, and submit only new ones for visa.

Don't do anything as the other members said, they mention that so that as per the norms they can give you a 1 year validity after medicals to complete your landing formalities. Submit your old passports only. You might have less time to complete your landing but I guess it alright.
