Passport stuck at Canadian border.

No it was actually just under 500g and fit in a normal envelope. But I didn't fill out a customs declaration card for it, so maybe that's why. I thought, because it was sent as a letter I didn't need it. But in the end it was only two days and I was lucky, but it does happen, when you sent stuff internationally. Apparently if you use courier instead of mormal post the risk is lower, but in this case even UPS  apparently can't do anything.

hmmm i seeeeee.....good to know...anyway, we plan to send by courier so hope it won't b any problems; thanks for the feedback

Woo hoo! His passport has been released and is on it's way. Hopefully everything will be in Rome by Friday or next Monday and then we just have to wait for them to issue the visa and mail It to him ( which im assuming takes no more than 8 weeks) and then apply for a UK transit visa of some sort. So relieved! It took 26 days for border control to release it.

Thanks Charlie!!! I'm soo excited! Thanks for eveything! And I just checked through old posts and it seems most people through rome get their passport back within a month! Can't wait to start looking at flights to go collect him! Yayayauaya! 3 years, 2 months, and 28 days since he and I have been together and now we are nearing the finish line to actually getting to be TOGETHER.

Congratulations and jubilations!  Get busy finding that flight, with his medicals expiring in April, they will likely try to get it back to him with a decent interval to land in.  Go and bring your husband home.
