Passport Request!

Can anyone let me know at what stage are passports requested by Immigration??How long do they take to return it back to you.

Just wanted to check to avoid any international travel during that time

Passport will be requested when your application is approved, as general. They can request you passport for any specific verification at any stage, not for Visa stamping only. Depend on your loction and visa office, some places you can collect passports personal while other only way is via post. Again depend from your visa office, but general experience, its takes 4-6 weeks for return passport. P.S, there were some cases I read where pasports took 3 months, maybe its case specific only.
