Hi,

I am putting together documents to send NYC for Visa stamping. Appreciate your help with inputs on the precautions and filing:

1.) Passports -- I am sending passports for myself and family members, Do I need to place them in any protective cover -- any inputs on precautions etc will be greatly appreciated.

2.) Photos -- Do I need to place them in any special cover..

3.) How to make it organized...

Pls help

I sent mine to Buffalo (even though I'm about 15 minutes away from the New York consulate), but I sent mine in a big envelope (Priority Mail with delivery confirmation) containing a printout of the e-mailed passport request, a small envelope containing the required photos, the note about my height and eye color, and the requested self-addressed, stamped Express Mail envelope to return them.  I closed my passport around everything but the return envelope.

I would think that as long as your file number is included on the outside of the envelope and also somewhere inside (you can do this by including a copy of the passport request), they will know exactly what to do with everything in the envelope.
