Hello friends I got passport request also last October 25, 2011, and i have to send to passport within next 30days. But I read the email Nov 29, 2011 and sent my passport on the next day to Fort Erie visa office. 1 month have already elapsed since i sent my passport. Am wondering if they will consider my passport even its already on due date? and do you think it will affect my application and will be denied because of this issue? Am really worried. I'm traveling now, and I won't be able to submit my passport within 30 days too. I hope that is not a problem. jes, how long did u have to wait for your passport?

Hmmm... maybe I misunderstood - did you mean you mailed your passport on Nov 30 or Oct 30? I waited 2 weeks for my passport from NY (not Buffalo), they had it for 1 week, stamped it, and one week in the mail back to me. But 1 month seems (unfortunately) common for Buffalo... |

Hmmm... maybe I misunderstood - did you mean you mailed your passport on Nov 30 or Oct 30?
I waited 2 weeks for my passport from NY (not Buffalo), they had it for 1 week, stamped it, and one week in the mail back to me.
But 1 month seems (unfortunately) common for Buffalo...
i mailed my passport on Nov 30. but they sent the email for my passport request on Oct 25. they just give me 30days only to submit the passport. and I sent my passport in Fort Erie |

Oh OK, then I did understand correctly. You haven't been waiting that long, only 2 weeks (I'm sure it feels much longer, tho!). You should recieve it soon, I expect...

Btw, I used a case specific inquiry to ask if I can extend pass 30 days due to my trip and got a reply from Buffalo in roughly 2 days saying that they put a note on my file and that I can submit my passport after my trip. So if anyone is in the same boat and is unable to submit passport within 30 days make sure you contact the office and let them know, to make your life easier.

Did u send you passport to BUffalo? Fort Erie has no case specific inquiry. Can I used BUffalo or New York case specific inquiry? |

Did u send you passport to BUffalo? Fort Erie has no case specific inquiry. Can I used BUffalo or New York case specific inquiry?
The visa office is in Buffalo. Fort Erie is just on a border and it is a PO box, where you can send your mail if u want to use Canada Post. You basically have two options, either use Fort Erie PO box or send stuff directly to Buffalo. Stuff that gets sent to Fort Erie PO box is then transfered to Buffalo. Case specific inquiry is done through the web so you have to select Buffalo option. I plan to send my passport to Fort Erie PO Box, that is where I have sent my initial application. |

My status in ECAS changed to DECISION MADE yesterday.
it says: "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision."
I already sent my passport to them.
what does it mean? there's a possibility of rejection?
i tracked my return mail but it's not yet on the system of canada post.
