Passport Request Clarify

When I got my passport request, the email said:

"The issuance of your visa(s) cannot be delayed so it is important for you to submit your passport(s) immediately. An expiration date will be indicated on your visa, and you must obtain permanent residence on or before that date."

People who got through that step, can you clarify what this means. What are they trying to say with this: "The issuance of your visa(s) cannot be delayed". What kind of visa is that?

What kind of application did you submit? In case it's PR, we need a visa to land.

Yes, it is a PR application. Is that some sort of special visa, different from entry visa?

They also say that issuance can't be delayed and it must be done within 30 days. I asked about that in the different post since I might not be able to submit passport on time.

How long is that visa that they give u, is valid for?

Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for my passport back (sent 1 week ago). Maybe someone who already received theirs can answer that question.

It can take up to 3 weeks or 15 business days from the time they receive it.. so relax!

It is the visa you applied for.  There is a time limit on the validity of your visa, that's all.  You should be concerned if your medicals will be expiring in the near future (you have to land within 1 year from the date of your medical examination).

So, simply speaking if my medicals were done in September, submitting my passport say in 32 days won't fail my application ?

They just worded it in a way that made me think that something bad will happen.

No - it's ok.  But if you know in advance that there will be a delay (because of planned travel for example), it's probably a good idea to let them know.

Yeah, I know - and by the time you get the PPR, every little word can terrorize us   .  32 days is not a problem....  If it were, they would not have sent my PPR by snail mail AFTER the Canada Post strike had already started...  30 days had passed by the time I even received it .  But there is an unknown shelf life to all of this stuff, so it is still best to send it ASAP.
