Less part of my passport lamination peel off at VFS delhi, yesterday... and VFS agent told me that if needed VO can demand for new passport,,,

SO can anyone tell, will it effect my visa chances.....

Hi,

It has nothing to do with your visa chances. At the most, they will ask for a new  Passport.

With such passport, you might face some serious problem at the 'Port of exit/entry' (India).

thanx for reply ,,, that problem i know but if visa is issued to keeping this problem side...
before leaving i will get it laminate from the Passport Office, as this is the normal problem which is faced by the people on new passport....

Can you tell me, how much time will it take to issue a new passport....

Under Indian Passport Act, there is no way to laminate/fixed any thing on your issued passport. The ONLY option is to apply for a new Passport under 'reissue' (not renew) category.

The process is;

1. File Police FIR

2. Submit:

-FIR,
-Damaged Passport,
-Proof of address (only in case of new address)
-Rs. 2,500 (if you want new Passport with 7 working days thn add Rs. 1000, may be Rs. 1500 more)


CHC shall not issue any visa if your issued Passport is really damaged.

1 month if u write  a application and show evidence of urgency then they will issue a new pasport only in 7 days under tatkal scheme

ok...letc what VO says...he gives visa and request for new passport or refuses visa...hope for the best...
