PASSPORT ON FILE

Good Day and Hi,
Please , I need some information and advice.
My sponsorship was approved by CIC and also got the COS ,Quebec.
Manila office started process on March 15 2011.
Passport received on May 5 2011.
Having no info my wife visited the Visa Office in Manila to find out if the
passport was received.
She was told that they received the PP and is ON FILE.
Please , What does that mean "ON FILE"
Do we have to wait longer.
Thank you in advance to anyone for assistance.

Yes, you have to wait longer. It means they have received your wife's passport, it has been attached to her file, and they are going to assess the file when they are ready to do so.
