Passport number changed(renewed) after recieving of PR card and arrival in Canad

I have landed here in Calgary in July'2008.We got our PR cards. My son's passport is going to be expired on Sept.2009.I have renewed passport now as I can renew before 6 month.Whether  I have to send this new passport/ information to anybody here in Canada? The PR card and immigration document was issued on basis of old passport.In India, when u renew the passport , the number also getting changed.
Can anybody help me for further course of action?
