i have lost the passport whose photocopy i sent to sydney office when i applied for Canadian immigration (federal skilled worker class). now i have a new one. should i inform the sydney office about this, if yes then how?? pls comment. thanks

wait for their decision if they approve your application send the new passport details with explanatory note along with your documents.

i think you better submit a new copy and written explanation ASAP....
bcoz what will happen if they ask you ; why you haven't informed us at the time you lost your passport??...
This is something very serious issue...please inform them...and also take another PCC against your new passport no.

Hi I agree with johny gaddar. Its aways better to inform CIO. Send a explanation letter along with copy of new passport. I would go one step more and send a police certificate as proof of lost passport. Also you may send the same to CHC once you get your approval from CIO

Important: Inform them immediately, if you have the file#. If possible, also attach the copy of a FIR from the police department, along with the justification/clarification letter.

U cannot communicate with CIO-NS. Thus, do the updating when u reach the CHC stage.

also, complete the procedure of filing FIR with your local police station and apply to passport office for getting new/duplicate passport in lieu of lost passport as soon as possible.

hi dear wxyz....

i think you must send the copy of ur new passport along with an explanatory letter to NOVA SCOTIA address...because they have to rectify your passport details in there software...i think they must be having some sort of software where they upload the profile of every applicant...

Moreover, you havent recieved any approval letter from Nova scotia itself..therefore, it is wise enough to send relevant documents immediately..without wasting the time...

NEED SOME MORE COMMENTS FROM OUR SENIORS..ESP. FROM QORAX DEAR...

hi jonny, many members including qorax advised me to wait untill i receive my AOR. then i send all documents including new passport copy to chc london, thx

No. Not to CIO-NS. Updation of their "software" - aka CAIPS could be done anytime, from anywhere, thru any CHC. The key to all our dispositions is the CHC - aka our "VO".

Also Note:
Without a File No. no updation can be done. U must at least have your 1st AOR to do anything with your file.
