passport error

hi

my family name is SIBAI
they wrote it on my passport by mistak SIBIA

i filled my immgration applications as passport (SIBIA)     wrong
but the corrrect is SIBAI and now i should give copy of my passport  for the IELTS test means another mistak

what should i do?? maby if i changed the family name at my passport will be not matched with the appliccation they will send in future and will be other problems   OMG

As you have already filed the application, going now for a correcton of name is not appropriate. Once you found the error when you received your passport you should have sent it for correction. You kept the mistake as it is because it was acceptable to you at that time and continued to carry over the mistake to other documents also. What I suggest is that ( may be there are different opinions from other people!!) keep the mistake till you get the PR and later before applying for a Canadian passport you can get your name changed. So once you become a Canadian citizen your proper name will be carried in your passport.

how about proof of birth? if you are married, thr marriage certificate? or your school/university records... do they all have the correct or incorrect family name. if some have SIBAI and the others ahve SIBIA, CIC will definitely notice this.

I guess you have your correct name on all other documents except in passport. Its much better to correct your name on the passport at this point and delay your ielts a little bit. Correcting name in the passport doesnt take much longer (I have no clear idea about non indian passports). Change in name will not be acceptable to CIC as per my belief.

When did you send your initial application to Sydney. NS? I beleive that ielts should be sent with the application if you are post June 26, 2010 applicant.

you should change the passport immediatly .. as all the bith certificates and graduation doc. are with the correct name, right? you should change the passport immediately

also after you change your passport , you can send the CHC a ammendment form and tell them to change the name.. i faced some case like that and it is ok now...but gooooooooooo now and amend your passport.

Excuse me if I am wrong, I dont think its a good idea to change passport now, a correction on the name will do with a letter to CHC when his guy send his full documets.

this happened to me too
i got a paper from my country embassy saying that the  named person (for example abcd ) is the same person with name ( for example abcdy)
for the ietls it worked they used the correct name
for immigration i used my correct name and attached a copy of the embassy latter
this can happen when they write the name in english from a different language

Its our pleasur to inform you that i've recived your suggestions and notes
after i saw your answers i found :

correcting name is not good right now because if  changed the name , It might be problem when i want to meet them or see also empssy or connect with them..

proof of birth or other certifactions all of them written in my native languge (Arabic),  Exept the passport written in 2 languges (Arabic,English) . As for IELTS test , I see i should tell them about not write the family name which is mentioned on passport , I hope they understand and write name as i want
