Hello,
This might be a slight issue I don't know so would like some advice on this matter

I am currently legally married although I have been seperated for over 5 years(she just left and disappeared). I notice on the application it takes a lot of interest in whether you have ever been married. Will it effect my application if I don't get this tied up beforehand with a formal divorce?

Also one last question

From 2004 to 2007 I was a web application developer/Systems admin
From 2007 to Present I was promoted to Assistant IT Manager whilst keeping my previous duties(just gaining extra ones). Can I declare both jobs as NOC 2174 to gain the 5 years experience overall to maximise points?

Thanks,

Robbie

I think I've just noticed something

Computer Programmers / System Administrators are not on the Skill 0 list

Does that mean I can only apply with 0213 Computer Manager ? and only carry 2 years experience(although as im just an assistant I dont think 0213 is applicable). My occupation seems to be a skill B job

You are right. Every year in occupation counts for points regardless of 38 categories but to qualify applicant must have atleast 1 year service from 38 categories within last 10 years.

So based on the following

From 2004 to 2007 I was a web application developer/Systems admin
From 2007 to Present I was promoted to Assistant IT Manager whilst keeping my previous duties(just gaining extra ones).

What points can I carry on employment? i.e. how many years work experience? Just two? i.e. just the management one and not the combined 5?

If have worked 5 years full time job then you scores highest points e.g. 21 (for equal for more than 4 years) and now talk about if you are eligible under new policy then you will have to choose 0213 but 1 year out of 5 years is mandatory. Hope this will suffice for your understandings.

Sorry still not quite understanding. Does that mean I can only claim 2 years work experience for my points as 0213 is the first job isn't applicable for a skilled work visa?

Ok! from start:

Step-1) Remember you cannot apply if you do not have atleast 1 year in 0213 (as you mentioned).
           If you answer for above is in "yes" then go to Step-2 (below);

Step-2) See this table (max point - 21)
    Year          Points
      1              15
      2              17
      3              19
      4 & +        21
So in you case your points are 21.

Is this ok?

Ah so just because I have at least 1 years experience in management I can use the full 5 years my category B work experience for my points to get 21? I don't have to use the work experience purely from my management job. Correct?

For further clarification, go through self-assessment (specially refer factor-3)

I've tried it but because I didn't fully understand what it was saying I was falling back on you guys. I have also based the question to a few immigration lawyers for clarification. The only reason I am pushing this score is so I dont have to do a TEF test to boost my score

Does anyone have any ideas to the first part of my question specifically to do with seperation and whether it effects things?

Thanks

HI! Just to follow up on this question to make sure I am understanding it. Although I would say the reply of the posters is quit clear.

I applied under the category of a registered nurse with more than 2 years but less than 3 years of continuous experience. But prior to being a nurse, I worked also as a credit authorizer for three (3) years with a multinational company (NOC 1114). I know the latter doesn't belong to the 38 listed positions qualified for fast tracking under the new rule for FSW application. Same question as the one who started this thread, can I get a full points for experience having had a work experience of more than 5 years (as a nurse and as a credit authorizer)? or will I just get a point for my nursing experience?

Again, just to make sure that I am not falling behind on the subject. Coz all this time I thought that I would not be getting any points for my non nursing work experience.

Reply would be much appreciated.

You need at least one year of experience in the job list of 38. This experience must have happened in the last 10 years. If you have this, then go to the next statement.

The points requirement comes next. For points, you can count ANY work experience in the last 10 years as long as it is of skill type 0, A or B. It does not have to be found in the job list of 38.

CarribRN - hope this explains your situation.

Sterion75 - I don't know how to answer your question. Hopefully one of the more knowledgable people (like BCGuy, Leon, PMM or BobbyB) could reply to you on this.

Now, for my last question. Is NOC 1114 skill type A or B?

skill type A. I am not sure why you need to know that it is skill type A or B.
