Hello,

My parents ( mom and dad) are planning to visit us from India . I need few confirmations for the following:

1) Application form - 5257 - I assume that this form needs to be filled for each of the parent ( mom and dad separately) - Is it correct?

2) Family Information - 5645 - This form needs to be filled for the individual applicant  Is it Correct?

3) Schedule 1 needs to be filled only if applicable

4) Question about the fee - We are planning to apply for a single entry visa - As per the guide , it is CAD 75 for each applicant - I am assuming that  We need to pay 2 * CAD 75 for my parents

But, I do see a family category where the fee is CAD 400. Not sure which category to opt for.

I would really appreciate if somebody confirm these for me . Thanks, Visit

1.  Yes, but include them in the same envelope.
2.  Yes.
3.  Both complete schedule 1 but only if they have checked yes on the 5257 for questions 2-7
4.  $150 is a lot cheaper than $400, $400 is only cheaper is the family size is greater 5 persons.

Sorry I do have another question...

Do my parents need to attach any covering letter to the Visa officer along with the application form ( and other required forms)?. I am just wondering where they need to list all the support documents they are providing with the application form. I have listed my support documents in the invitation letter.

Make sure you send a proof of Canadian Insurance for at least 1 year.

You have to buy Supervisa insurance for at least one year term and show it when you apply for the visa and
each time at the entry to Canada.

Your parents can write on the checklist what additional documents they are providing.

It is not Super Visa that we are applying for my parents it is " Temp Resident Visa ( visitor Visa)"  since I am on work permit. Is it mandatory  to show Insurance proof for "Temp Resident Visa" (visitor Visa)? Please confirm this for me.

Hi!! When you have completed the application forms, make sure you sign and date them, and that all required documents and fees are included in the envelope. In most countries, application fees must be paid in Canadian dollars. You must send your application to the Canadian visa office in the country or region where you live. But waiting for appoval application for Visitors Visa can take long time, mybe you better search about new option -Super Visa for parents the proses takes only 4-8 weeks
