Parents Sponsorship

Hi There,

I arrived in Canada 2 years before on PR under spounce sponsorship Program. My wife is a citizen and now I am PR. My question is I want to sponsor my parents from India under PR. I heard that the processing time for parents are not treated as quickly as the application of spouse. Like in my case my wife (citizen) sponsored me and I got the visa in 4 months, but the same is not the case with the parents application. I heard that it might take minimum 4-5 years. Now what is advisable to do in my case if I want to sponsor my parents here in Canada? Once PR is filed can my parents apply for visitor visa? Is it advisable to do in case if it affects adversely to their PR process. Or first I should call them on visitor and then I should file PR for them? Don't know which option is better one.

What are the minimum requirements to sponsor parent's PR here? I mean what minimum finance I should show (income/bank balance) to support their application? Does my wife can show her income to sponsor my parents here in case we have joint accounts?

I would appreciate if some one in the forum can help me and can share their experience with me and their advise/suggestion would be appreciated greatly.
