I don't think so, you can have medicals done at DMPs in Canada itself.

But according to letters CIC is sending regarding Medicals, everyone should do their medical from the same DMP.

i guess i am getting more and more impatient to this whole waiting game.
i called CIC again today and what they said today is basically once they receive the additional documents those files are put back in the queue and currently they are looking at people who applied in Nov 2007.
i dont get this..

i wish something quick could happen for me as my brother who is a dependent of my parents already came to Canada and is paying international fees for his tuition..

Got questions for those whose file is transferred either in Local office or Ottawa office. When you guys filled out an application, there is a blank where they asked you to write "Immigration office requested to process this application", what did you guys write in it?? How do CIC-M decide which file to transfer to CIC-Ottawa office and which one to local office??

I wrote New Delhi, India but my file has been forwarded to CPP-O. I guess its a random pick. CPP-O is to help local offices by speeding up the process, eventually all files go back to local offices.

But according to letters CIC is sending regarding Medicals, everyone should do their medical from the same DMP.
the e-mail that i received from CPP-O:

Please take this letter and the enclosed Medical Report form(s) IMM1017 for yourself and your spouse to the medical practitioner performing the examination.  You and your spouse should be examined by the same doctor.

The medical examination must be performed by one of the licensed physicians shown on the "List of Designated Medical Practitioners" (i.e. doctors). To access this list, please refer to our website:   http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medical.aspxIf you and/or your spouse are outside of your home country for an extended period of time, you may see a Designated Medical Practitioner in the country where you are presently residing.

You should make arrangements to undergo the required medical examination immediately. Failure to do so within 30 days of this notice will result in unnecessary delays in the processing of your application.

How do CIC-M decide which file to transfer to CIC-Ottawa office and which one to local office??
nobody knows for sure how CIC is selecting cased for CPP-O... it looks like they are trying to decide if local knowledge is required or not... it looks like they think that cases with dependents require local knowledge... but not having dependents does not guarantee that the case is forwarded to CPP-O: i believe i read about cases with parents only without any dependents that were forwarded to a local office... my guess is that military service or history of multiple moves and living in different countries can also be considered a case that requires local knowledge... not sure if cic looks at if parents have visited canada...

It looks that after 90 day period has ended (Feb 25), CIC-M has started to maintain the original queue from Sept. 2007 and dropped the new queue of updatation documents - First Update First Serve Basis (that CIC-M had been doing)

Hey raj, I am bit confused regarding what you are saying as one of my friend who had applied in November 2008 and got approval and got request for Medicals from OTTAWA. So I don't think they are maintaining the old queue. I don't know ....

So I don't think they are maintaining the old queue. I don't know ....
i agree... i think that the new queue was naturally created based on the date that additional documents were received by CIC... but the agents answering the phone do not know about it and don't have access to all the details... and they don't want to hear complains about how unfair CIC process is Smiley so they are saying that old queue is being maintained...

I agree. On phone, call centre agents have been saying from last 3 months that they are maintaining old queue. Howver, we all know CIC is not maintaing the old queue. CIC call centre agents are saying something else and CIC is going something else.
