Congratulations to everyone who received letters, approvals etc!
My e-cas changed today to "Medicals have been recieved". yay!
The regional office where medicals have been sent is London, not Ottawa. So our assumptions here that Ottawa is faster by definition are not quite true. It all depends on individual cases I guess.

Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. confused whether sponsorship is approved /what?  well, they don't release their decision. You will get a letter soon. And let's hope you are approved! |

...its more likely 99 % 99.999999 %chance that u got approved as sponser.  I think I may have heard about only one case where the sponsorship was turned down and that too may be a case of mistake at CIC end. |

Can you confirm your timeline sibnadian...you got a medical request May 8, and your e-cas changed to medicals received May 11?? And your medicals were sent to London? This seems almost impossibly fast. How did you manage this? |

I explained this a few pages before. My mom applied for visitor's visa in Feb, concurrently with all of this process. The Embassy requested her to do medical for visitor's visa on March 7, 2012. She did it on March 29, 2012. I was hoping Ottawa will accept that medical for sponsorship. But they never did anything with it (even though I faxed everything to Ottawa) and sent a request for medicals on May 8, 2012... for sponsorship. Meanwhile, our doctor (when my mom made an appointment for another medical) got really proactive and sent a request to London, asking for a waiver for X-Ray. London reviewed the whole file and sent a reply back to our doctor that my mom DOES NOT NEED TO DO MEDICALS again. They were able to transfer her medicals from visitor's visa to her medicals for sponsorship/pR file. They said they were able to do that because there were absolutely no questions about my mom's health. We got very lucky and we are very thankfull to the doctor. She didn't have to do it. But she told me that it didn't make sense to her to do another medical when both exams were exactly identical with exactly same tests etc. |

i agreed with you as well, what i understand is this the sponsorship approval is just to say that we fulfill the requirement of the income and relationship with our parents. parents without the dependent don't need more information's from the local like fulltime study and all that so most of those cases got forwarded to Ottawa( and most of those parents have visited to Canada before) parents with dependent needs more look in to it.
even though they approved as sponsor doesn't mean that they looked at the dependent study information's that closely and to get the authentications of the documents are valid or not so they need local knowledge on them. so local vo can ask further documents or proof from the parents and dependent to prove that they are fulltime student still and dependent. i highly doubt if they will ask something from parents accept like if they have doubt that doc submitted was not the right or something missing.

I sent an e-mail to change my parents' mailing address. How do I know if CIC Ottawa changed it in file. I have not recieved any confirmation e-mail. Anyone ever changed their address when parents' file in Ottawa? Thanks!

got the sponsership letter yesterday  and file got sent to Lvo new delhi ,dated may 11. so most of all got teh approval letter and as we all predict it will go to local vo so it did went to local vo for us. congrets to all of you ratri,spons, spring,gaggidhilon,sakmath, yay nice! congrats Pari4u! |

I was wondered if there is anybody else with almost the same timeline as mine (Recieved AOR letter May 9, dated April 26) still waiting for the decision to be made??? Or everybody has got the decision made status or sponsorship approval letter already? ? So worried now.... Thanks in advance for your replies! |

Did your doctor say that everything was good? I think sometimes it takes them longer when additional tests are needed. |
