Hi everyone!
I've been following this thread for a while and I know it's way too early to expect a status update in lieu of my application.
Brief sumamry:
I mailed my application package to CIC Mississauga to sponsor my parents in September 2011. I havn't received any communication from CIC confirming that they have received my application. Apparently, I'm not even sure if my application has reached or not! Do I need to worry about anything? I checked the CIC link where application processing times are updated periodically. The latest update is " Issuing acknowledgement letters for applications received on April 29 2011.
I just want to make sure i'm on the same page as everyone else!
Thanks.

I think you should worry now. Contact CIC. They should not hold you passport for four months.
I know a friend whose parents have their passports submitted for about 8 months now. I guess it happens sometimes. I won't sweat over it but its not a bad idea to investigate.

Anik, I think nobody really knows what will happen in your VO. No precedents lately. IMHO, you can send PCCs but be prepared to send them again later as well.
I am afraid that Ottawa will request one more later again as well (since their process is a year on average). Visa officees usually ask for a fresh one before requesting passports (if the process is long).

Anyone know how long will it take for eCas change again after "Medical results have received"? I'm not sure what is the current processing time for Ottawa?

where were the medicals sent? My parents were sent to London as they were completed in the UK and still no change to ecas after nearly 10 weeks. It seems that people who had them sent to Ottawa have the ecas changed to medicals received much more quickly. The DMP in UK and the CIC agent spoke to both indicated that they had to be sent to London, but others seem to have sent them to Ottawa and had much quicker acknowledgement.

Anyone in the same situation?
Yes, I am also in the same situation. Well, here is what I did, I asked my parents to apply for PCCs after we received the letter in Nov 2011. My parents applied for PCCs in December and in the meantime I forwarded the additional documents set to Mississauga. The PCs were received by my parents in late Jan 2012. They mailed me the forms and I forwarded them to Mississauga in Feb 2012. A month later in March 2012, they returned the PCCs saying that they have no record of our file. lol In April, they sent me AOR and the approval letter. Now I am wondering what to do with the PCCs that they returned. Sent these back to Mississauga or sent it LVO???

I do not think there is any point sending it to Mississauga. If anything, it should be the local VO you can try. That is what I am planning to do. We got our PCCs later than I sent the forms, so I never sent them to Mississauga. But I will send them to LVO as it looks like I do not have anything to lose (they either expire or at least have a chance to be accepted by LVO).

I would agree to that. Once you know where your file is transferred, its best to submit the PCC there - as it is in this stage that the PCC would be checked/verified. I have forwarded my pcc to the LVO just last week.

Did you mail it from canada (canada post or courier?) or your parents mailed it from their home country? I just happen to have mine here (parents sent them to me because we thought that I might need to send them to Mississauga or ottawa...alas..). Now I have to send them either back to my parents or directly to LVO and trying to decide whether to use canada post (e.g. their xpresspost service) or some courier service

I had my sister "speedpost" it directly from India.

Is the quarterly update for Family application processing times for step 2, normally late? - I think it was due since April 23rd 2012, as the last update was January 23rd 2012.

Which update are you referring to? Quaterly case inventory by visa office? I believe they released the data for Q4 2011 in April, so the next one (Q1 2012) would likely be sometime in June. Usually www.sponsorourparents.org website publishes those updates (at least that is where I view it - not sure where the originial data is posted) Or are you referring to some other data that CIC releases?

guys need some guidance. Medicals sent Jan 13th 2012, passport sent soon after in January. It's been 4 months and still no news about passport! Any idea? Online e-cas is showing medicals have been received. How long more should I wait before I start getting reall worried! Any guidance would be truly apprciated.
When did you submit Police Clearance Certficates (PCC). Did you receive request for medicals & passport at same time and without the need to submit PCC?
