Hi,
Can somebody help about below questions.

Native language document: copy should be included. Does this copy has to be certified/notarized also?

My mom's passport and ID card has thumb print instead of signature, does she needs to use thumb print on CIC forms also (is this acceptable)? Can somebody confirms who had similar situation and documents has been approved.

Thanks.

Generally speaking when they don't mention that the copy should be neutarized, then it means that a simple copy is enough. However, just to be safe and prevent any delay in you file, it is good practice to send true, or certified copies of native language documents attached to their  translated versions.

In my understanding the due date for the medicals is the date when the medicals expire.

I think there is a field called 'Validity Date', maybe that is when the medicals expire. Just guessing. that field is blank in my notes.

Thanks SnSpring, PAri4u, sibnadian and Spons!

I have one more update: I just called CIC and the agent was so helpful. She informed me that they have mailed another letter to me on April 30, 2012 stating that I have been approved as a sponsor and that my file has been forwarded to the local visa office (Nairobi). Waiting for the letter now. I am not sure what the processing time is in Nairobi but I also submitted the PCC for my parents together with the application in Feb 2012. So I guess what's remaining is medicals and payment of fees.

gaggidhillon and Spons, no e-cas status change for me though.

Congrats Simrak....

Today, I received additional medical request mail for my parents. Letter is dated April 27 and there is a sealed envelope for DMP. They have given 90 days to complete the re-medical.

Hi guys,

Here's some info for those whose file were fwded to local visa office (NDL). I just got the GCMS notes on my file. I got 2 vital info from it. The info is laid out in groups like "Eligibility", "Medical"' "Security" etc. Each have a due date (except Security). In my case "Eligibility" had a due date of Apr 7th (unfortunately, the notes were made on Apr 4th). TheMedical had the duedate of Mar'13, so I guess, I won't receive medical letter till that time.

I am new in this form but have been watching it for a long time..............but i am on Trackitt and have few posts on it..............
If you compare your GCMS notes with Shuga's notes, both time lines are same for medical, so if Shuga got medical request before so there are bright chances that you and all others whose files have been transferred to LVO  will also get the medical request soon.

CIC launched a public consultation on the redesign of the Parents and Grandparents Immigration Program. Immigration Canada like to hear from the public. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and the result will be posted after it closes on May 31st.

cic.sondages-surveys.ca/s/PGP/?l=en

Please fill this survey.  Our opinions count. CIC is planning to charge $40000/parent fees for parent sponsorship, which means you have to pay $80000 if you sponsor your parents (two person).  Also, CIC will extend sponsorship term from 10 years to life time.

I work for the government.  I asked my colleagues (most caucasians) to complete this survey.  They believed parents sponsorship should be charged a fee similar to above amount or higher because it costs taxpayer's money.  However, $80000 is not a small amount.  I don't think most immigrants can afford it. Would you have that amount money to sponsor your parents on top of down payments of house and monthly mortgage? Most parents will work, look after grandchildren or do some housework, which GDP could not keep track of this portition. They also create value for the families and society. It's not fair to charge $80000 for immigrants.
Hii wec660 i feel ur pain.....i would love to fill that survey but your link doesn't work

General Information for those who have completed medicals...

How long will my application take if I need a medical exam?

After a medical examination with the Designated Medical Practitioner, the results are sent to our medical office to review.  The medical office then sends their assessment to our visa section.

For temporary resident (visitor, student, worker) applications, it normally takes 4 weeks after your medical examination before we will contact you regarding the next stage of your application.

For permanent resident applications, it normally takes 3 months after our medical office receives the medical examination results from the Designated Medical Practitioner before we will contact you regarding the next stage of your application.  This is true only if you have already complied with our other requests (e.g. to submit other documents).

How can I check on the status of my medical exam results?

If you would like to check when our medical office received your medical examination results, contact your Designated Medical Practitioner to get the tracking number for the delivery.  Check the delivery company's website or phone them to confirm the date of the delivery.

For complicated cases or where additional medical information is required, the processing time for your medical assessment will be longer.  You will be notified by our medical office if further medical information is required.  The length of the delay will depend on the nature of the medical condition being investigated.  Your Designated Medical Practitioner can explain further.

This office will not respond to case status enquiries within the processing times above.  If you have not heard from us within these processing times, you can submit an enquiry for a case status update. Include:
•the name of the Designated Medical Practitioner you visited,
•the date of the medical exam,
•the tracking number of the package containing your medical examination results (contact your Designated Medical Practitioner for this information),
•the date that the delivery company delivered the package (contact the delivery company for this information), and
•your application file number.
