Hi guys,
Here's some info for those whose file were fwded to local visa office (NDL). I just got the GCMS notes on my file. I got 2 vital info from it. The info is laid out in groups like "Eligibility", "Medical"' "Security" etc. Each have a due date (except Security). In my case "Eligibility" had a due date of Apr 7th (unfortunately, the notes were made on Apr 4th). TheMedical had the duedate of Mar'13, so I guess, I won't receive medical letter till that time.

most likely they will mail to the mailing address from form IMM0008 or to a representative's mailing address (if there is a representative)

I have one more update: I just called CIC and the agent was so helpful. She informed me that they have mailed another letter to me on April 30, 2012 stating that I have been approved as a sponsor and that my file has been forwarded to the local visa office (Nairobi). Waiting for the letter now. I am not sure what the processing time is in Nairobi but I also submitted the PCC for my parents together with the application in Feb 2012. So I guess what's remaining is medicals and payment of fees.
gaggidhillon and Spons, no e-cas status change for me though.
Well mine must be special case then, I received 1st email with documents complete for sponsorship & 2 days later received pdf attachment for sponsorship approval. No letters in mail. |

Did they ask for PCC or did u submitted it earlier ,my file transfer to New Delhi on Jan 25 but no news yet and i have dependant on my file,they ask singhnx1 for PCC and additional document but no news for me yet
I send PCC already when they asked for additional documents |

Please fill this survey. Our opinions count. CIC is planning to charge $40000/parent fees for parent sponsorship, which means you have to pay $80000 if you sponsor your parents (two person). Also, CIC will extend sponsorship term from 10 years to life time.
I work for the government. I asked my colleagues (most caucasians) to complete this survey. They believed parents sponsorship should be charged a fee similar to above amount or higher because it costs taxpayer's money. However, $80000 is not a small amount. I don't think most immigrants can afford it. Would you have that amount money to sponsor your parents on top of down payments of house and monthly mortgage? Most parents will work, look after grandchildren or do some housework, which GDP could not keep track of this portition. They also create value for the families and society. It's not fair to charge $80000 for immigrants.

i'm not so sure about the due dates in GCMS notes... in my case Due date for Security and Criminality is Jan 2013 - a year after my sponsorship was approved... status Not Started... not sure if if it means that they will start Security and Criminality by Jan 2013 or finish it by this date... I already received a request for Medicals - but the due date for Medicals is also Jan 2013... status Sent... Eligibility - status Not Started, Due date in Feb 2012... The date when GCMS notes were created is couple of days after the Eligibility Due date... Then there is a section called Application Assignment with Due date in April 2012 that looks like Medical + PCC request date + 2 months (the time i was given to provide medicals and pcc)... |

In my understanding the due date for the medicals is the date when the medicals expire.
i though that medicals expire 12 months after they are done... so in my case medicals were done on March 3 2012 so they will expire on March 3 2013... but the due date in the GCMS notes is Jan 2013 - it's 12 months since my case was approved and transferred to Ottawa... honestly i think that only one Due date makes sence - the one in the Application Assignment section... it looks reasonable - they sent me medicals and pcc request and gave me 2 months for it... so after 2 months they are going to check if i did what they've asked for... i hope that next GCMS notes will give more information... at least i hope to see if CIC received my medicals and PCC... and started Security and Criminality... |
