hello Friends
i have one question about the right of permenant fees, i already pay for it but in the recipits you have to mentioned the name, client date of birth and the client id #. the latter we recived it had the file # so i dont think thats the client # so i guess we have to leave that empty, but little confuse with name & clinet date of birth  Sad as is it supposed to be sponser name ( my name) or the principal applicant name ( my dad name) and date of birth if any one pay the fees online if they can please help me what you write down would be great.
Thank you,

I have the same confusion when I was filling forms..
At that time I called CIC and they told me to fill in the details of the sponsor, because it will be easy for them to deal with people living in Canada for any refunds/adjustments.

The office responsible for where your parents are residing.

IMM0008 should be computerised - it is not ok to submit handwritten IMM0008. You need to fill it on a computer, press verify button and get a barcode.
i believe that other forms can be handwritten.

No... It doesn't need to be filled on computer. It would be nice if it was filled and validated using computer.
My parents hand filled in the form. I asked CIC if that is OK as they do not have any computer knowledge. They said its perfectly fine.

you are right... i checked the web site - using the new electronic form is recommended but not mandatory:

As of July 18, 2011, applicants for Permanent Residence are asked to complete the new Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008). Applicants are encouraged to complete the form electronically and validate the information to generate 2D barcodes before printing.

I agree. they cannot expect old people to be literate in computers. It's preferable for them to have a validated copy as that copy goes right into their database and they do not need to enter it manually, but they still will do accept regular filled by hand versions without any problem.
